23 February 2009 «CLEAN HANDS WITHOUT BORDERS»: THE ANTI-CORRUPTION CIVIL MOVEMENT GAINS STRENGTH!

Opening ceremony of European Anti-Corruption Center «CLEAN HANDS WITHOUT BORDERS» held at the media center of the newspaper «Izvestia» February 18, 2009. The founding of European Anti-Corruption Center is urged by the seriousness of the financial crisis which creates favorable conditions for growth of corruption. Civil activists from Austria, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Russia and other European countries join forces in fighting corruption.

Prospects of the project were voiced by its manager Evgeny Arkhipov: «The main objectives of «CLEAN HANDS WITHOUT BORDERS» are: an analysis of complaints against corruption, help everyone in restoring his rights violated by corruption and address causes of corruption. European Anti-Corruption Center plans to work in the regime of «mobile office» which moves across Europe to provide its help on the ground ».
The striking examples of violations of human rights were presented at the press conference.
Semen Zelentsov is a prisoner stole allegedly the money of the company and murdered allegedly the person. Semen was illegally sentenced to 12 years in prison.  Despite the fact that during an investigation all defense requests were rejected, many important evidences were falsified, a victim was found a Director - staff member of the company. Another example - a businessman Mikhail Alyanyh lost business due to corruption at law enforcement bodies of New Oskol district in Belgorod region Russia.
