Association of Russian Lawyers for Human Rights recognized that the human rights defenders have prepared next report in connection with the death of the Russian oppositionist Alexander Dolmatov, who died in Rotterdam in January 2013.
According to experts of the Association, the Netherlands pleaded guilty for the death of oppositionist Alexander Dolmatov, who was seeking the political asylum due to the political persecution in Russia, but the report focuses on the absence of the necessary to exercise the public control through the mass media. According to the point of view of the authors of the report, Russian lawyers and human rights activists should not had to inform the mass media about the death of Alexander Dolmatov without permission of the authorities of Netherlands.
Experts of the Association of Russian Lawyers for Human Rights disagree with the position of the authors of the report and consider that the report is an attempt to save the reputation of Netherlands and also consider, that the such report is beneficial for Netherlands, which once again demonstrate the policy of "double standards" in point of the political asylum seekers.
Experts of the Association are reminded, that the information about the death of Alexander Dolmatov admitted to the mass media only after then the relatives of Alexander were informed about it.
Moreover, the experts of Association emphasize, that the decision to inform the mass media was made after the attempts of Dutch to hide during the day the fact of the death of Russian oppositionist, as a consequence, the Netherlands were not interested in a civic control of the investigation of the death of Alexander Dolmatov and they were not interested in a mass media attention.
According to experts, the report is not objective and may contain the conclusions agreed in advance with the authorities of Netherlands.
