Alexander Dolmatov, a member of the Other Russia unregistered party, committed suicide last night in the 'expulsion center' in Rotterdam, as it became known from the Geert Ates, the chair of the anti-racism network UNITED, the lawyer Evgeny Arkhipov said.
According to the information available, Alexander Dolmatov's asylum request was turned down. However, Alexander was not to be threatened with deportation as the negative decision has been appealed by Alexander's lawyer. It is known that last Sunday he committed two attempts of suicide in the refugee center in Amsterdam. The following day he was moved to a closed "expulsion" facility in Rotterdam although the administration of the refugee center must have taken all the measures to prevent suicidal attempts. Alexander took his life in Rotterdam detention center at night of January 17.
