7TH OF SEPTEMBER 2012 AUTHORITIES ARE AFRAID OF OPPOSITION UNIFICATION IN “POLE SVOBODY” (“FIELD OF FREEDOM”) FESTIVAL

As informed by the lawyer Evgeny Arhipov to Press Service of the Association of Russian Lawyers for Human Rights administration of Domodedovo town provided an official letter to the organizers of the “Pole Svobody” political festival, informing that holding of discussion camp on the 8-9th of September 2012 is inadmissible and the head of Domodedovo police Haetsky V. V. warned about use of force in case of attempt to hold the festival.

According to organizers authorities are afraid of opposition unification in “Pole Svobody” festival as representatives of different political lines were to take part in “Pole Svobody” festival – from nationalists to liberals ready to defend their ambitions for the sake of future, and authorities try to prevent any natural political processes. In the opinion of “Pole Svobody” organizers when authorities face the real oppositional forces and are afraid of losing control of political processes they use any mechanisms to forbid any civil initiative and any manifestation of civil opposition.

In response to the prohibition of authorities to hold “Pole Svobody” festival, the oppositionists answered in a short video clip, which on request of organizers, is posted on the web-site by the Press Service of the Association. The above video clip was made in “Pole Svobody” in Danilovo village, as informed by the organizers.
